Based out of the Atlantic City area, the band pairs nuanced narratives with dynamic arrangements and pop melodies with fuzzy chaos.   Caring Less Caring Less is an up-and-coming indie band from Philadelphia. Compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Alanis Morrisette, and PJ Harvey, Caring Less continues to develop a soulful 90s rock and roll sound on their new EP, titled “Whatever You Want.”   Nylon GhostNylon Ghost’s music is the product of over a decade of change, growth, and friendship. Their unique sound blends elements of indie rock, pop, and country music to create something truly special. With soaring melodies and introspective lyrics, their songs capture the highs and lows of the human experience.

Joshua Burnside ~ Driftwood Soldier

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 8:00 PM   Joshua Burnside Joshua Burnside is an experimental folk songwriter, singer and producer. He takes influence from alternative electronica and Irish folk, chopping and blending them with a mixture of found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods.   Driftwood Soldier Driftwood Soldier isn’t your average mandolin-bass foot-stomping gutter-folk duo. Growling and crooning, muttering about lost love, brimstone, and the glorious view from the underside of a rusty world order, Owen holds the rhythm on mandolin and foot percussion. To his left, Bobby stretches bass notes into lyrical vines that vibrate somewhere north of your liver and flower unexpectedly at night. This is the kind of roots music that grows through the cracks in a West Philly sidewalk and drinks its rainwater laced with motor oil.Their second full-length album, Stay Ahead of the Wolf, arrived late in 2019. It was produced with Erin McKeown and mixed by Grammy winner Ted Hutt. Unfazed by a world in disarray, Stay Ahead of the Wolf crawled up onto its four legs and went barrelling through the digital ether, carrying with it this strange beast’s howl. With a sound that lands somewhere between Lake Street Dive, Sammy Rae, and Steely Dan, they blend pop, jazz, funk, and indie in a way that’s totally their own. Each member brings a different musical background to the mix, giving Post Saga an eclectic vibe that keeps things fresh. Their two-person horn section adds an extra kick, especially during their high-energy live shows where dancing is pretty much guaranteed.Post Saga is here to have a good time, and they’re bringing you with them.   Fruitfly Fruitfly is an emo band still trying to figure out how to write emo songs based out of Cleveland, Ohio. Combining disparate influences from emo acts like The Brave Little Abacus and Weatherday to bedroom pop staples like Rex Orange County and Dayglow, Fruitfly’s music pairs melancholic lyrics with intricate instrumentals to make a compelling new sound.

Hannah Frances ~ Reese Florence

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   HANNAH FRANCES   REESE FLORENCE Reese Florence doesn’t just make music—she builds an atmosphere. Like filling the space with light in a dark and empty room. The Guyanese-Martiniquais American singer-songwriter pulls from a deep and meditative place to create songs that feel both intimate and immense. As her songs drift, unravel, and settle deep in your chest, you find yourself soothed by her vocals. A voice that holds authority, settled in alto. Her words are delicate but powerful: “Please, tell me how / You take your night tea / To help you sleep sound.” It’s a whisper that lingers, like the last conversation before you fall asleep. Think Sibyl Baier’s ghostly and iconic folk or Jessica Pratt’s delicate surrealism, but with a stillness all her own. Her debut EP, Avoir, Ennui (2024), is a quiet storm of restraint and emotion. The album’s warmth is amplified by Katie Hackett’s backing vocals and guitar, while Adam Shumpski’s bass and percussion add a steady, grounding pulse. Florence spoke with us about where music found her, the weight of place, and what’s next for her Philadelphia-rooted sound. —words by Attia Taylor
