Doors: 6:00 PM Show: 7:00 PM BIGBABYGUCCI BigBabyGucci describes his own music as multidimensional, and it’s a fitting assessment. Across his near-decade-long career, the 27-year-old rapper has experimented with different sounds and scenes, all of these explorations leading up to his new album, Baby 5. Densely produced and lyrically evocative, the project is BigBabyGucci’s opportunity to build a new world around his Baby 5 persona. Ostensibly presented as an alias or a moniker, the concept expands out to include a visual experience not unlike a series of television networks. Inspired by shows like Tyler the Creator’s Loiter Squad, and the long-running sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live, the presentation of Baby 5 will be as if the listener has been stuck in the visual and aural world of Baby 5. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, BigBabyGucci has been working and reworking the theme of his new album to perfection. Baby 5 considers all aspects of his life and career. Being from a Southern region, specifically, has taught BigBabyGucci to appreciate music on a deeper level, which is apparent through his artistic expression. He also had the advantage of visiting his mother’s side of the family in New York as an adolescent, which exposed him to MCs like Big L, MF Doom, and the Notorious B.I.G. But there’s no place like home—BigBabyGucci looks up to fellow North Carolina rapper J. Cole, as well as soul singer Anthony Hamilton, who hails from Charlotte. In May 2024, BigBabyGucci was selected as the visual cover of The Carolinas hip-hop radio station on Pandora. “I’m happy people are looking at North Carolina,” he says. “A lot of kids out there that are like me, that grew up there, it’s not easy to showcase that. Anything I can do to get more eyes on it.” “I feel like the project takes you on a ride of really different emotions,” he says. “It has a youthful feeling to it, but it’s still mature. I wanted to basically control how the listener feels instead of just dishing out a bunch of random songs.” Sonically, Baby 5 is a journey through hyper-rap, alternative hip-hop, and R&B. Chronologically, the album transitions from phase to phase, sound to sound, giving fans an opportunity to delve further into each listening experience. “I’m still getting better,” he says. “I’ll always keep the basis of what my music will be or what it is, but I feel like you don’t know what you’re going to listen to once you press play on one of my songs.” Tracks like “Black Sheep” and “Captain Crashout” home in on BigBabyGucci’s penchant for crafting high-energy records, while “Petty Queen” and “Chanel” focus on his ability to appeal to a female audience. Born from a chance encounter busking on the subway, Adrian Blake Enscoe, Sydney Shepherd, and Regina Strayhorn defy convention with an impressive trade-off of lead vocals and instruments. The Bandits marry acoustic, electric, and bass guitar sounds with cello, accordion, suitcases-turned-kickdrums, and (if you’re lucky) sometimes even a megaphone. The Bandit’s three-part harmonies have been heard filling iconic venues while opening for The Wood Brothers’ 2025 East Coast tour, on the main stages at Colorado’s Rocky Mount Folks Fest and Michigan’s Blissfest, and in a sold out residency at Manhattan’s Bowery Electric. Their songs have been featured by NPR’s Tiny Desk and The Moth Story Slam, as well as in Netflix’s Ask the StoryBots and the feature film The Same Storm. The Bandits tour nationally and internationally, with appearances at Cambridge Folk Festival, Floydfest, Summerfest Milwaukee, Americanafest, F1 Singapore Grand Prix, Mile of Music, and more. Their theatrical indie-folk lends itself quite well to storytelling and their work adapting text for a musical production of As You Like It later became their EP The Shakespeare Tapes. In addition to all their touring and recording work, Bandits on the Run are also in the business of writing musicals, sometimes as a trio and sometimes with collaborators. They are currently creating the stage musical adaptation of the novel What’s Eating Gilbert Grape with actor-musician-longtime friend Christopher Sears and newfound friend Academy Award Nominee Peter Hedges, supported by MCC Theater. Bandits on the Run are also developing an original musical, Yukon Ho, about a group of Black prospectors in the Alaskan gold rush, Yukon Ho was researched on the ground in Skagway, Alaska with support from the NEA, and has been workshopped with support from Prospect Musicals. They are alumni of several musical theater writing development programs, including Berkeley Rep Ground Floor, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, and the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Grove at Goodspeed Musicals. Rooted in her Georgia upbringing and sharpened by her Manhattan drive and UK 20s, Sam’s lyrics weave in tales from her neuroscience background and are praised for their raw, reflective emotional depth. Sam has just wrapped her HOMECOMING headline tour of the American south and is gearing up for the release of her sophomore LP, “Look in the Mirror and Beg,” and first festival bill at Americanafest this fall.

Affectionately known as Papa, he was the kind of person others naturally gravitatetowards. It was a photograph from one of his trips to Asia that inspired the Eugene, OR duo’snew album Papa’s Boat. In the image Papa is looking out across the horizon and stood next tohis boat Sŵn y Môr (Welsh for “Sound of the Sea.”)“I think so much of what Alden and I are doing comes from just watching him live his own uniquelife,” says Dana. Alden agrees. “His emboldened, passionate personality gave us permission tobe our own selves, to be unconventional and draw outside of the box.”Recorded with Malcolm Catto in London in March 2025, Papa’s Boat combines all theirchildhood love and global experience to create an ecstatic sound built on Dana’s saxophoneand Alden’s drums.
