Honeythunder
Honeythunder is a brown girl fronted, all-queer 4-piece band based out of Philly, bringing indie rock with a punk rock sensibility that punches above its weight class. Honeythunder is made up of Kat Bakrania (she/her; bass and vox), Dan McKeon (they/them; guitar), Bel Furman (she/they; guitar), and Izzy Ross (they/them ; drums). Having now released an album (“It’s All Crashing,” 2023) and EP (“Tailspin,” 2024), Honeythunder is entering a new, more experimental phase with their writing, leaning into desert rock and surf rock influences. New music coming soon!
Longfriend Timefriend
Hailing from the basements of South Philly, Longfriend Timefriend blends the high-energy songwriting of Jeff Rosenstock & PUP, the jangly self-consciousness of Modern Baseball & Joyce Manor – & the leftist queerness of Bad Moves. After years of writing, gigging & growing, they’re surviving history’s slowest apocalypse on their latest full-length album, 2024’s “Here’s To Not Feeling Worse.”
The band’s new record is about surviving an empire in decline the only way you can: by loving harder. It’s about the emergent magic of personal bonds, the struggle to stay radical under capitalism, and the immutable joy of screaming into your friends’ faces about how incredible they are.
Madska
Madska Is a quirky indie pop powerhouse hailing from Philly, PA. Headed by two friends who met on Facebook, Madska crafts music that feels both nostalgic and upbeat. With hauntingly beautiful vocals, Madska’s sound invites you to dance, hug your friends, and shed a tear all at once. Their songs evoke a sense of home and a desire to relive your favorite memories. Inspired by the likes of boygenius, Big Thief, and Holly Humberstone, Madska is endearing, fun, and unapologetically vulnerable.
