Dear Forbidden

Dear Forbidden formed sometime around 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania— probably  during a full moon, with all of the self-mythologizing and wanton hyperbole rock band bios are  known for. It began with Gina LC and some other people who, frankly, don’t matter right now. Ryan joined in 2016, which was neat. But the real turning point came in 2017 with the arrival of  Steph, that’s when everything got louder and tighter. In 2020, Kyle joined on second guitar, completing the lineup and adding a touch of luxury in the process.

Dear Forbidden doesn’t fit neatly into any genre, mostly because genres are a man-made  construct. Despite this, the band has played many, many shows over the years, some even in such  exotic locales like Poughkeepsie, NY and Wilmington, DE. The band has had its fair share of  trials and tribulations, for example, nobody can tell when the band is joking, in any context. Their most recent self-titled album release is available wherever you get your music.

Gun-Shy Butterfly

Philadelphia-based duo Gun-Shy Butterfly meld sugary harmonies and urgent hooks with fuzzed-out guitars for a tough and tuneful sensibility evoking the 1990s alt-rock, grunge, and Riot Grrrl scenes, especially bands like Veruca Salt, L7, and the Breeders. Check out their debut EP ‘Uncomplicated’ wherever you stream music.

Those Looks

Those Looks is an indie rock four-piece from Lambertville, New Jersey, known for their velvet wave style of dreamy, apocalyptic pop. Combining retro rock sounds, from surf to jangle, with classic pop melodies and hints of cosmic country and psychedelic folk, their music is the perfect soundtrack for the last summer on earth. The band includes Kelly Bolding on lead vocals and guitar, Sylvia Barrantes on lead guitar, Randall Newman on bass, and Shaun Ellis on drums, all of whom contribute to the lush vocal harmonies that are a throughline across the band’s songs. Previous releases include “Cherry” (2025), Passing Through (EP, 2025), and Cults Near Me (LP, 2022) on Mint 400 Records; “Laundry and Taxes” (2023) on Weathervane Music; and Come Unto Me (self-released EP, 2019). Those Looks play regularly across the New Jersey, Bucks County, and Philadelphia areas. They are currently writing and recording their second full-length album.
