The Schizophonics ~ Lisa Christ Superstar ~ The Falling Out

THE SCHIZOPHONICSOver the last few years, The Schizophonics have built up a formidable reputation around the world as an explosive live act. Tapping into the same unstoppable combination of rock ‘n’ roll energy and showmanship that fueled THE MC5 in the heyday of the Grande Ballroom, their wild live show is heavily influenced by artists like JAMES BROWN, IGGY POP, JIMI HENDRIX, LITTLE RICHARD, and THE SONICS. Singer/guitarist Pat Beers and drummer Lety Beers formed the band in San Diego in 2009 and have worked tirelessly since then, playing hundreds of shows around the globe and winning 7 San Diego music awards. In 2013 they were recruited as the backing/opening band for EL VEZ, which helped the band make a name for itself in Europe. Since then, they’ve played in fourteen countries, and supported tours by like-minded acts like ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, LITTLE BARRIE, and THE WOGGLES and have opened for the DAMNED, HIVES and CAGE THE ELEPHANT. Shindig magazine described their live show “Like watching some insane hybrid of WAYNE KRAMER, JAMES BROWN, and the Tazmanian Devil”. “One of my favorite live bands ever!” proclaims Tim Mays, who has run the Casbah in San Diego for 30 years and has seen literally thousands of live bands come through his doors. “The Schizophonics bring the goods every time they play,” he enthuses.  The band is more than just an outstanding live act, they’re also committed to writing great, memorable songs.  After releasing 2 singles and an EP over the last few years on Munster, Ugly Things, and Pig Baby Records, they put out their first full-length album in July 2017 titled Land Of The Living on the label Sympathy For The Record Industry with famed record man Long Gone John. In January of 2019 they started work on their 2nd LP recruiting Dave Gardner (Hot Snakes, RFTC) mixing engineer Stephen Kaye ( JD McPherson, Mike Krol) and Pierre De Reeder (Rilo Kiley) to put their live, raw sound to tape. The album titled People in the Sky will be released on October 31st, 2019 on Pig Baby Records. LISA CHRIST SUPERSTARPhiladelphia based husband and wife duo are the architects behind the guitar-driven triad, LISACHRISTSUPERSTAR. The one certainty is that vocalist/guitarist Lisa Lyne Flynn (aka LISACHRISTSUPERSTAR), bassist/vocalist Steven McCarthy and drummer Eric Perfect, worship at the altar of the mighty riff! The members have played in many well-known bands such as Savage 3D, Limecell and Pagan Babies. The Reverend Horton Heat ~ Koffin Kats ~ Rocky Kaminski

The Reverend Horton Heat With their hot-rodded fusion of dazzling high-speed guitar runs, thundering rhythms, high-profile swagger, and lyrical smirk, the Reverend Horton Heat are perhaps the most popular psychobilly artists of all time, their recognition rivaled only by the esteem generated by the genre’s founders, . The Reverend (as both the band and its guitar-playing frontman are known) built a strong cult following during the ’90s through constant touring, manic showmanship, and a barbed sense of humor. The latter was nothing new in the world of psychobilly, of course, and Heat’s music certainly maintained the trashy aesthetic of his spiritual forebears. The Reverend’s true innovation was updating the psychobilly sound for the alternative rock era. In their hands, it had roaring distorted guitars, rocked as hard as any punk band, and didn’t look exclusively to the pop culture of the past for its style or subject matter. Most of the Reverend’s lyrics were gonzo celebrations of sex, drugs, booze, and cars, and true to his name, his early concerts often featured mock sermons in the style of a rural revivalist preacher. On their 1992 debut Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em, the group established the template of their no-frills, high-intensity approach to rockabilly, and though celebrity producers helped beef up the sound of their next two albums — of on 1993’s The Full Custom Gospel Sounds and ‘s on 1994’s Liquor in the Front — the Reverend’s essential style changed little with time. They would explore a more introspective side on 2004’s Revival, embrace their country influences on 2009’s Laughin’ & Cryin’ with the Reverend Horton Heat, and add a pianist to the mix on 2018’s Whole New Life, but on-stage and in the studio, Jim Heath and his bandmates could always be depended upon to deliver some of the twangy fire that their fans loved. Clan of Xymox at Johnny Brenda’s

CLAN OF XYMOXSince their formation in their native Holland their music has been constantly changing, always challenging and often quite breathtaking. Some of us have always been of the opinion that XYMOX are something special. A band fired by electronic music but determined, always, to make something that is very much their own. They are unique. Clan of Xymox, during the years released many hit and cult albums since their signing with 4AD (UK) . Later signed to Universal Music (USA) and now Trisol (EU) & Metropolis Records (USA). THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATEFormed in 2012, THE BELLWETHER SYNDICATE is fronted by veteran artist William Faith (vocals/guitars), and Sarah Rose Faith (vocals/guitars). While the studio recordings are made by William and Sarah alone, the live lineup includes Paul Sin (bass) and Philly Peroxide (keyboards/percussion) and Stevyn Grey (drums). The band have always sought to color outside of prescribed genre lines, endeavoring to push past the boundaries of style into something substantial and vital. VOSHHailing from Washington DC, Chris Moore (Repulsion, Coke Bust, The Rememberables), and Josephine Olivia (Blacksage, Vosh) formed Aertex in 2018. Bringing elements of goth, post-punk, and darkwave together in their debut 2-song demo “Superstition”. In the short period of time being a band they have already played shows with The Psychedelic Furs, Boy Harsher, She Past Away, Gost, SRSQ, Unmaker and many others.  *Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required for entry* *Attendees are encouraged to wear masks while not actively drinking* In accordance with Philadelphia’s citywide mandate, attendees will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination for entry to all Dave Kiss Presents events. The Pack A.D. ~ The Size at Kung Fu Necktie

The Pack A.D. Destruction and melody, acid wit and bruising vocals-this is the Pack A.D. Singer/guitarist Becky Black and drummer Maya Miller have made a sound so gigantic, so fierce and raw and empowering, that it’s easy to forget there are just two people behind this brilliant, carefully constructed havoc. Shredding and pounding their way through every song, the Pack A.D. swallows you whole inside their fearless Franken-blend of heavy psychpop/garage-rock. Their lyrics are wild nests, human and complex: darkly funny disclosures about depression; indictments of digital excess; grief-stricken fire bombs; sly crusades against stupidity.   In accordance with Philadelphia’s citywide mandate, attendees will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination for entry to all Dave Kiss Presents events. Point North ~ Lil Lotus ~ Concrete Castles ~ Cherie Amour at Kung Fu Necktie

POINT NORTHPoint North is building a new world, one positive, tangible action at a time. With their debut album, Brand New Vision – released in August 2020, Point North embraces an alternate reality that celebrates a break from predictability and normalcy for a world that is uncomfortable, a world that has meaning, a world in color – a place to feel something. LIL LOTUSWhen you see Lil Lotus, you don’t necessarily think he’d have the voice of an angel. You might think the tattooed, crazy haired guy might be nothing but trouble. But instead of being someone who yells through their pain, Lotus sings his. And when he does, the melodies are ungodly beautiful, even if the lyrics are not. Lotus has had his share of hard times in his short life. The cognitive dissonance between his heavenly vocals and his heavy lyrics is very much on purpose. CONCRETE CASTLESPennsylvania-bred rock band Concrete Castles took their name from one of the first songs they ever wrote together, a wildly cathartic anthem called “Thrill” As frontwoman Audra Miller reveals, the song was inspired by the pure joy that she and her bandmates Matt Yost (guitar) and Sam Gilman (drums) have found in chasing their dreams with no backup plan, a sentiment that’s fully reflected in the track’s radiant energy and triumphant gang vocals. With its shimmering guitar tones and massively catchy hooks, “Thrill” perfectly captures the essence of Concrete Castles’ sound—an ultravivid collision of alt-rock and pop, immaculately crafted but emotionally raw.CHERIE AMOURCherie Amour, Baltimore, Maryland’s nu-punk pioneers, are utilizing an exciting opportunity for a fresh start. Previously known as One Life to Lead, Trey Miller (vocals), Casey Reid (guitar), Brendan Willis (guitar) and Ronnie Sherman (drums), felt that their group’s evolving style and sound deserved a name that matched their overall style. This evolved sound, one that steps away from classic pop punk and the idea of being a “Warped Tour Band”, helps clarify the band’s intended direction of carving their own path in the scene.
