Veda Rays ~ Frend ~ Mandy Valentine

VEDA RAYSVeda Rays are an alternative rock band which began as a modern extension of traditional dream pop, indie & post punk. The group has since developed a unique voice through several years of steadfast experimentation, making records, and filing through the ranks of the Brooklyn DIY scene. Analog synths, treated samples, and other varied electronic elements add an atmospheric richness. The orchestral flourishes and texturally nuanced sonics oft times broaden the scope unto cinematic heights or tighten the focus down to minimal depths. The lyrics and imagery often explore liminal spaces of abstraction and surreality, channeling subconscious impulses reacting to the present moment.https://vedarays.bandcamp.com/FRENDPost-hardcore heartbreak.  Melodically screaming about hard feelings over angular hooks and heavy grunge.  It’s very cathartic for everyone involved. https://frendtheband.bandcamp.com/ MANDY VALENTINEhttps://mandyvalentine.bandcamp.com/music

*All events are 21+ with valid ID required for entry*Doors: 7 PMShow: 7:30 PMSTARBENDERSAtlanta alt-glam band Starbenders will release their hotly anticipated sophomore album, Love Potions, on February 14 through Sumerian Records, fresh on the heels of 2019’s Japanese Rooms EP and serving as the follow-up to 2016’s Heavy Petting debut album. These are words similar to those which you will read on countless press releases, but there really isn’t anyone else out there doing what Starbenders have been doing since forming in 2014: The intoxicating combination of ‘70s glitter and ‘80s glam with new wave and new romantic, seduced into this new decade by four thrilling musicians and, in frontwoman Kimi Shelter, one of the most exciting songwriters in contemporary rock & roll.“It’s really interesting to see it bloom into what it is now,” says Shelter. “I guess us leveling up as far as musicians go, and having to be capable of pivoting — be decisive and be resourceful in the midst of creating as well — has really shaped us. The sound has captured this sort of restless, relentless side of my spirit.”https://www.starbenders.com/MAGIC COBRABorn in the sign of the centipede, Magic Cobra (Marc-André Basile, Dave Watts, Dave Johnson, and Noel Babineau) are a shattered stained-glass dream conceived in the corner of a dark Philadelphia basement in 2018. Their first self-titled EP was released mid-pandemic mayhem and ran the gamut in terms of its psychedelic influence – since then they’ve dialed into a heavier sound, with new songs built on a foundation of devastating fuzz and throbbing textures.https://magiccobra.bandcamp.com/album/magic-cobra-ep

Bass Drum of Death

Bass Drum of Death are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of “GB City” (Fat Possum Records) by performing the album in its entirety. Bass Drum of Death are from Mississippi. John wrote and recorded the whole record himself using just a drum set, a guitar, a USB microphone, a computer and a shitload of talent. The songs are about drugs, panic attacks, stealing stuff, mild to severe depression, Elvis appearing in your dreams and giving you advice, gravity bongs and the devil living inside your brain. This record is the soundtrack playing in your head when you’re fucked up and walking home in the middle of the night, still after all of these years.https://www.bassdrumofdeath.com/CUMGIRL8https://cumgirl8band.bandcamp.com/album/ripcumgirl8MK & THE ULTRASFrom droned-out, ambient soundscapes, to frantic blasts of psych/surf mayhem, MK & The Ultras (featuring Matt Kelly of Philly’s Toy Soldiers) are always creating music that’s colorful and inviting. It’s high energy rock n roll that is enlightening, inspiring and highly psychedelic.https://mattkelly.bandcamp.com/

Kowloon Walled City ~ Rid of Me ~ Tangled Up ~ Burial Waves

*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry*6:30 PM Doors6:45 PM MusicKOWLOON WALLED CITYhttps://kowloonwalledcity.bandcamp.com/ RID OF ME Heavy, melodic noise punk from Philadelphia featuring members of Fight Amp, Low Dose and Tangled Up. Loud and quiet, raw yet honed, Rid Of Me strikes a nerve for anyone wanting to hear melody, emotion and punishing groove filtered through walls of noise and dissonance. https://ridofme.bandcamp.com/TANGLED UPhttps://tangledup.bandcamp.com/ BURIAL WAVES Burial Waves are their own sonic entity, but you can certainly hear not only their individual pedigrees, but the history of their hometown in their collective output. Their initial foray into the public sphere began in early 2020 with a video of their live multi-media performance of “Cinema Shame.” The song starts with a steady, driving guitar line supplemented by a syncopated drum pattern. A grimy bass line and ethereal guitar round out the instrumentation, giving the song a heavily anchored rhythm section and helium-grade atmospherics. Durfey completes the picture with his impassioned vignette of a couple watching the history of their relationship unfold as distanced spectators. “Cinema Shame” is an apt introduction to Burial Waves’ sound—an amalgam of amp-worshipping heaviness and synesthesia-inducing space rock with a slight edge of cathartic recklessness. https://burialwaves.bandcamp.com/

Good Kid ~ Phoneboy at Kung Fu Necktie

GOOD KID (TORONTO)Good Kid is a pack of rambunctious indie rockers, who blend J-Rock, Indie Rock, and Pop Punk influences into a non-stop barrage of energy and fun! The Toronto band, who just released their second EP has won over the hearts of fans with music and a heavy emphasis on visual art, Internet culture, and “fan lore”! Recently the band has seen an explosion of love from the gaming community. They’ve been included in the most recent official Fortnite Radio update and did a collaboration with FaZe clan to announce the signing of a new player! https://goodkid.bandcamp.com/track/orbitPHONEBOYIn an age of hyper-stimulated doom-scrolling and over-polished social media stars, humble Hoboken three piece Phoneboy are all about living in the moment. Singer/guitarists Wyn Barnum and Ricky Dana met at a tiny technical college lacking much of an indie scene. Pulling in Wyn’s childhood friend, bassist James Fusco, the three college boys bonded over a love of midwest emo. But while you may find a tinge of that teen angst that comes with youth, Phoneboy are ready to turn up.https://phoneboy.band/
