Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 8:00 PM   Codefendants Get Dead vocalist Sam King’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was in prison. Months later they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California.    They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.    Impossible to define by traditional standards, Codefendants were forged out of a desire to make an album that sounded like nothing else while still capturing the feeling of music they admired as kids growing up in the Bay Area.    Fat Mike, bassist of NoFX and punk hero was floored when he heard the first three demos and joined the project as lead producer, studio bassist & additional songwriter.   In 2023 This Is Crime Wave was voted Punk Rock Vinyl album of the year, publications such as Kerrang, Dying Scene, Outburn & New Noise Magazine have praised it.    Chris Conde Since 2010, multi-instrumentalist, producer and rapper, Chris Conde has been actively playing shows across the United States. He has been featured at major music events and festivals like Maverick Music Festival in San Antonio, G.I.A.N.T. Fest in Brooklyn, Blow Pony in Portland and Stargayzer in Austin.   Conde has also served as direct support for well-known touring acts and indie rappers including LCD Soundsystem, Circa Survive, Cupcakke, Big Freedia, Sno Tha Product, Tha Alkaholiks, Lupe Fiasco, Bushwick Bill, Sage Francis, Grieves, Sadistik, Sole, Grayskul, Rory Ferrira, Sims, Shreddders (Doomtree), Busdriver, Ceschi, Sammus, Armand Hammer, MC Chris and Jonwayne to name a few.   On December, 6 2019 Fake Four Inc. Released Conde Digital a five song EP produced entirely by Moodie Black, which is available via Fake Four’s Bandcamp page as well as all streaming sites including Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, etc.   Ultimately, Conde’s goal is to communicate through music his journey; the pitfalls, relapses, homelessness and self acceptance as a queer person so that his listeners might connect with the universal theme of hope.   Conde’s work in the LGBTQ community has led him to start an all-LGBTQ performance showcase called Queers & Beers in 2015, which features performers from multiple genres of music. He also founded the very first LGBTQ music radio show in San Antonio called Queer Vibes on KRTU 91.7 FM the following year, which still runs from 11pm-Midnight every Sunday and features local, national and international music from the LGBTQ community.

SUUNS ~ Activity

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   SUUNS You can hear freedom flowing through the 11 tracks on Felt. Self-produced then mixed to audiophile perfection by St Vincent producer John Congleton, it maintains a pleasing economy, the informality of self-production has enabled Suuns to explore bright new vistas – the hypnotic future-pop percolations of X-ALT or Watch You, Watch Me’s organic/synthetic rush of elevatory rhythms and the ecstatic, Harmonia-meets-Game Boy patterns. Never mere fusionists, it’s now pointless trying to decode their sonic signature as ‘dance music that rocks’ or vice versa. Ben Shemie has a newfound vocal range and a penchant for buoyant melodies, showcased in such wholly unexpected delights as the yearning lilt of Make It Real and sax-smoothed Peace And Love, which sincerely comes on like a post-punk Sade. The suitably outré image for Felt – a hand reaching out to touch a giant latex black inflated ball – breaks with Suuns’ earlier darkness for a more optimistic ambience. The record’s playful atmosphere is echoed by its double meaning title. Activity  On their sophomore album Spirit in the Room, Activity is haunted. Haunted by technology. Haunted by the loss of loved ones. By capitalism and humanity’s relentless death march towards environmental destruction. Produced by Psychic TV’s Jeff Berner, the album is an emotional seance held through an unearthly haze of menacing trip hop, ambient electronica, and synth-based noise rock.     Their most collaborative album to date, Spirit in the Room ultimately reflects the band’s deep anxiety about the modern world while simultaneously displaying their immense gratitude and—believe it or not—joy. As Rees describes it, “One moment it’s bottomless shearing chaotic noise, and the next it’s a sweet melody. Sometimes at the same time.”    This dichotomy seems to set Activity apart from their peers in the noise rock world. On the one hand, Spirit in the Room is a harrowing journey through a Bosch-like landscape of illness, global capital, and human-caused destruction. On the other hand, it’s a room full of friends who are simply trying to make it through the day and process this world that we’ve created. When asked why this album needed to be made, Johnson put it best: “None of us can stand to not make music is all, really.”

LOVE with Johnny Echols ~ S.T.O.P.

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   LOVE with Johnny Echols LOVE with Johnny Echols sees Arthur Lee’s longest serving band continue to perform the classic songs from Love’s first three albums Love, Da Capo, Four Sail and of course the timeless Forever Changes. This isn’t just a nostalgia trip – their shows are drawing in an increasingly younger audience as teens and students are discovering the timeless music produced by these 60s legends performed by a band that is truly on top of its game. Johnny Echols: “I so look forward to performing LOVE’s extraordinary music to an appreciative audience. We perform much of Forever Changes, as well as favourites from our extensive catalogue… a few deep cuts as well as a few surprises!” Joining Johnny Echols on stage is Baby Lemonade who from 1993 until Arthur’s death in 2006 performed as his band and became an essential part of the renaissance of LOVE’s music. This iteration of LOVE saw many sold-out tours, including a US tour with the Zombies, as well as back-to-back performances at the legendary Glastonbury festival (UK) and appearances all over Europe. On July 8th, “Five String Serenade,” the lead single from Just To Remind You—the first new Arthur Lee / Love studio album in 33 years is released. The song features a gorgeous orchestral arrangement by David Angel, harkening back to his work on Love’s timeless classic Forever Changes. Famously covered by Mazzy Star, the track was recorded in the same room at L.A.’s Sunset Sound where Love recorded their first three albums, and features lead guitar from Love founding member Johnny Echols and tasteful backing from the current and longest-serving incarnation of Love.
