J. Roddy Walston
J. Roddy J. Roddy Walston is a force of nature. If his hits like Heavy Bells is are a war cry, then the deep cuts like Boys Can Never Tell are a tactical cosmic retreat. For some, his music is a form of religion, psychedelic in its intensity, transformative in its grip on the body, shaking loose something primal that’s been buried too long. It’s not about thinking. It’s about moving, feeling, surrendering. His influences are a riot of contradictions: Kurt Cobain’s fury, Nilsson’s fractured sweetness, Zeppelin’s power, and some where in there a perverted nod to William Onyeabor’s lonely calculator funk. Critics try to box him in, but Walston can’t be contained—he does chaos, and his live shows do damage, but fortunately his the songs can pay the tab. Catch him and his band before he burns it all down again.

Tokyo Rose ~ Desoto Jones ~ Days Like These ~ Grip on the World
AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 6:00 PM Show: 6:30 PMTOKYO ROSEAn emo-influenced pop-punk band from New Jersey, Tokyo Rose was formed in 2001, while singer and guitarist Ryan Dominguez and bassist Chris Poulsen were both students at Rutgers University. Though both were playing with other bands, the two shared similar musical interests and decided to launch a band of their own. Tokyo Rose played local shows when the members’ busy schedules permitted and they booked tours to coincide with vacations and between-term breaks. Tokyo Rose also recorded a self-released EP, Chasing Fireflies, which became the band’s calling card after Dominguez and Poulsen graduated and made the band a full-time priority. Following a number of personnel changes, the band had a solid lineup with the addition of Greg Doran on guitar and Jon Smith on drums, and in 2003, during a tour of California, the band signed a deal with the independent label Sidecho Records, who released the group’s first full-length album, Reinventing a Lost Art, in July 2003. Extensive touring followed, including playing the 2003 CMJ Festival, the 2004 South by Southwest Music Conference, and the 2004 Warped Tour. In 2005, after returning home from a tour of Japan, Tokyo Rose began work on their second album, New American Saint, which was released in October 2005 and featured a new lineup, with Josh Lurie taking over for Doran on guitar and Tom Roslak replacing Smith as drummer. Lots more touring followed, both in America and abroad, and by the time Tokyo Rose began work on their third album, Lurie and Roslak were out of the band, with Tokyo Rose reshaping themselves as a trio and Jake Margolis on board as their new drummer. The third album, Promise in Compromise, was released by Sidecho in July 2007. ~ Mark Deming, Rovihttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7faY5PGn1D0uQ2HTfBPmn9?si=hgr_2MASQmGUfmRgCoAWwADESOTO JONESRock & Roll is still very much alive. You can feel it in the raw energy of Desoto Jones, a band which blends contemporary sound with the roots of American Rock. The ragged intensity of Desoto Jones is reminiscent of the early days of grunge and alternative, but is also pleasantly sophisticated; the band skillfully fuses ear-grabbing melodies with soulful, introspective lyrics. Their music is an inquest of candid expression, but the band doesn’t try to wax philosophic; the lyrics grow from real, relatable experiences.Their music invokes a sense of nostalgia for the past, travelling deep to touch the most basic human emotions.https://desotojones.bandcamp.com/ DAYS LIKE THESEDays Like These is from Vineland, New Jersey. Doors: 7:00 PMShow: 7:30 PMBabyJakeWhat better place to be?https://www.itsbabyjake.com/ Will SwintonSinger-songwriter Will Swinton crafts relatable, soul-baring songs that other artists wish they’d written themselves — just ask Machine Gun Kelly, whom Swinton met by chance at an Idaho bar in July 2022. MGK was “intrigued” by the 22-year-old New Zealander — enough to invite Swinton to his Mainstream Sellout Tour show in Spokane, Washington. Independently Swinton achieved success with his July 2022 debut single, “All For You,” which hit No. 6 on the Hot 20 New Zealand Singles Chart, followed by the similarly refreshingly honest “Wasted You,” climbing to No. 15 on the same chart. Altogether, he’s generated 100 million TikTok views and nearly 10 million global streams in the span of a year. Swinton’s emotionally tinged Better Days debut EP, further solidifies his unique sound and unquestioned potential for global resonance. Standout tracks like the title “Better Days” and the anecdotally vulnerable “Leave In The Morning,” produced alongside Rory Noble (Burna Boy, Ruel) illustrate Swinton’s refreshing musicality. Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand the former trampoline park employee took a leap of faith spending all his savings on a lifechanging flight to LA chasing his music dream. Fast forward, he’s now signed to 10K Projects and Capitol Records enhancing his artistry. He garners acclaim from Rolling Stone, writes with the likes of Claire Rosinkranz, sells out headline shows in addition to playing a slew of global festivals and recently opened for Dermot Kennedy.https://www.willswinton.com/music/

They create a fresh, fun, and bold sound that’s as colored by history as it is rooted in this moment, scoring lyricism which reveals a fractured existence that can only mend by leaning into the tears…and the arms of a hot date. A band for the good and the bad times, they’re a growth of budding flora fed by the same river that baptized Dolly—a sensual journey of becoming that’d behoove ya to tag along for!The band formed in the spring of ’22, released its first two singles later that year, then quickly began gigging regularly throughout the Southeast with periodic stints up the east coast. 2024 has been the band’s biggest year yet: the release in May of their debut EP Hot Dirt coincided with a string of dates through May and June that included an appearance at Bonnaroo. With more touring scheduled throughout the year’s remainder, recorded material in the works, an ever-growing catalog of original songs, and one hot bunch of pickers to move it forward, this band is steadily growing its name as a unique and refreshing voice in country and rock n roll.Spotify | Instagram
