TIOGA ~ Bren ~ Duunes

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   TIOGACultivated in the eternal city of Brotherly Love, TIOGA creates music that sounds like if Jack Antonoff and Brandon Flowers went to a karaoke bar and sang Talking Heads songs until they got kicked out and then mumbled David Bowie songs to themselves on the walk home. The group marries their meaningful lyricism and endearing style of alternative indie with a hearty bass and danceable synth-pop sound. Their homebase now extends beyond the confines of Philadelphia, and as far as the Big Apple.Bren Bren is a newly Philadelphia, PA-based singer/songwriter writing cathartic pop tunes from a punk heart. Having moved over 10 times in her life, dropped out of college, ended and started new relationships, Bren knows a thing or two about unexpected change. Breaking through self-doubt is a common theme throughout her writing. Distilling influences ranging from Elliott Smith to Mitski to the Pixies, Bren’s music shares familiar sentiments of vulnerability and introspection, serving as your companion for feelings you may not have even realized you had.DUUNESUnder the name DUUNES, Harrison Cohen creates sly, driving, alternative rock that soars with his electrifying vocals. Like a dune, Cohen has weathered storms and navigated adversity with a relentless spirit. Growing up around the non-stop action of NYC, DUUNES draws inspiration from its resilient energy, high stakes, and unbreakable toughness. Big choruses, explosive vocals, and dark swagger put DUUNES in a similar genre territory as The Killers, Interpol, The Vaccines & more. DUUNES debut single “Fever Dream” has been featured on Apple Music’s New In Rock and New In Alternative editorial playlists, The Allison Hagendorf Show, and Brooklyn Vegan’s New Song Roundup.

Upholding all of the trimming is the knowledge that nothing beats an infectious hook.SUPERCURSE is here.SOFT NOIn winter 2023 when Austin and Scott from Philly post punk outfit Sold approached Allie from garage gazers Flatwaves and Jon from mosh lords Rock Bottom, they wanted to play music that sounded “…like the Deftones, or something”. Fast forward a year later, and we guess you could say it sounds like that maybe fifteen percent of the time, except now with synth parts provided by our friend Kate (Raw Force).  If you like bops, riffs, and a whole lot of dropped D, you’ll be a hard yes for Soft No.@softnophlModern CultureModern Culture is a Philadelphia based rock band. Kevin Dunne(Vocalist and Guitarist) and Brandon Cole(Drummer) have been constant collaborators in various projects since meeting in high school, and while searching for individuals who shared a similar sonic vision, they met Jonny Ibarra(Guitarist) and Brad Parsons(Bassist) who have helped round out the line up. Taking influence from 90’s-00’s emo, and combining them with elements of shoegaze and post-hardcore, the band released their debut EP entitled “Separation” that talks about the loss of a loved one, the effects it can have on those left behind, and the nonlinear journey that can follow after.

Graduation Speech ~ Magazine Beach ~ Broadcaster ~ Night Windows

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 6:00 PM Show: 6:30 PMGraduation SpeechAs musicians change, so does their music. It’s an unavoidable truth that some fans hold against their favorite artists, but an artist’s evolution also yields some of their most powerful music. Case in point: New Jersey’s Graduation Speech was conceived when Kevin Day sought a quieter creative outlet separate from his band Aspiga. Though the intimate acoustic project differed dramatically from Aspiga’s brand of blown-speaker pop-punk, it opened new doors for Day as a songwriter. Now, after six years of releases, Graduation Speech is ready with Arcane Feelings, an EP that noticeably features six full-band songs, building on 2021’s Maintenance Required. On that EP, Day called on friends to add guitars, drums, keys, and percussion, showing what Graduation Speech could look like with more rhythm and layers. Where previous Graduation Speech releases were quiet, personal — perfect for an acoustic house show living room — the songs on Arcane Feelings are written for a small stage in the back of a bar, the crowd knocking shoulders, nodding to the beat as they nurse their beers. That’s in no small part due to the addition of Billy Bollinger (Crucial Dudes), Brandon Iacometta (Crucial Dudes), and Pat Pie rounding out this new lineup. “Henry,” for example, bounces, rowdy and antsy, to Pie’s stamping drums, acoustic chords jangling between the beats. Bollinger’s long, electric leads drip across the verses throughout Arcane Feelings, but also add texture and heat. On “Get Lost,” guitars glint like the summer sun off of chrome; on “No Confidence,” they smolder following the first chorus, send clean plumes of smoke into the second verse. But even the slower, quieter songs—those most reminiscent of previous Graduation Speech albums—still feel weightier with a full band.https://graduationspeech.bandcamp.com/Magazine Beachhttps://magazinebeach.bandcamp.com/album/constant-springtimeBroadcaster4-Piece Rock Band from Long Island, NY.https://broadcasterny.bandcamp.com/album/a-million-hoursNight WindowsWhere do I go from here? Everyone is getting older. I’m losing people both to death and life. I’ve written about the sadness that comes with the gift of life, but never like this. This time, I leaned as hard into the sadness as necessary in order to feel better. “In Memories is a huge step forward from a band that already ruled, but really benefits from the format of full band arrangements interspersed with the more solo-born experiments or just differently fleshed out songs. It’s a really dynamic set of songs that I could see people getting really excited about, especially with the way bands like Wednesday, MJ Lenderman, and Big Thief have gotten folks excited about a specific kind of wood-grained songwriting that Night Windows isn’t totally like, but could appeal to fans of.” -Fred Thomashttps://nightwindows.bandcamp.com/album/in-memories
