Skating Polly ~ Lord Friday the 13th ~ Froggy
AGE RESTRICTION: All Ages Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMSkating PollyOver the past decade, few artists have embodied the unbridled freedom of punk like Skating Polly. Formed when step sisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Big horse were just 9 and 13, the Oklahoma-bred band have channeled their chameleonic musicality into a sound they call “ugly-pop,” unruly and subversive and wildly melodic. With Kelli’s brother Kurtis Mayo joining on drums in 2017, they’ve also built a close-knit community of fans while earning the admiration of their musical forebears, a feat that’s found them collaborating with icons like X’s Exene Cervenka and Beat Happening’s Calvin Johnson, touring with Babes In Toyland, and starring as the subject of a feature-length documentary. On their double album Chaos County Line, Skating Polly reach a whole new level of self-possession, ultimately sharing their most expansive and emotionally powerful work to date. The follow-up to 2018’s The Make It All Show, Chaos County Line finds Skating Polly working again with Brad Wood, the acclaimed producer behind indie-rock classics like Liz Phair’s Exile in Guyville. As their songs journey from art-punk to noise-rock to piano-driven power-pop, the band matches that musical complexity with a sharply honed narrative voice that manifests in countless forms(ultra vivid poetry, diary-like confession, fearlessly detailed storytelling, etc.). Not only the outcome of their constant growth as songwriters, Chaos County Line’s scope and depth has much to do with Skating Polly’s newly heightened clarity of vision.“All these songs are the most special to me of anything I’ve ever written, and I think Kelli feels the same,” says Peyton.“In the past I didn’t always write with a clear purpose, but this time I knew exactly what I wanted to say. We both ended up writing about the most difficult emotional experiences we’ve ever been through, and instead of being terrified of saying exactly what I was feeling it just all came out so naturally.”https://www.skatingpolly.com/Lord Friday the 13thLord Friday the 13th is a dollar store trash-glam punk band based in Austin, TX. Fronted by siblings Felix (vocals) and Sloane (guitar) Lenz, their sound has been described as the Velvet Underground meets the New York Dolls, with hints of early Iggy and the Stooges. While honoring the origins of punk and the energy it birthed with it, Lord Friday continues the legacy of change and pushing boundaries on societal norms that true punk is known for. Challenging gender roles and conformity, Lord Friday is here to empower and inspire a new kind of punk for a new world.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUp88x4jIxIFroggyhttps://froggytheband.bandcamp.com/

We hear every anxious giggle. We take every single one and cradle it in our hands and translate it into sound. We arrange these sounds into music for you. There are five of us. We are a loud band born in a concrete room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We were born to howl, but we crave silence. And YOU’RE LAUGHING. When will you ever stop?https://www.instagram.com/yourelaughing_Bacon Egg and CheeseBacon egg and cheese is a group of musicians from philadelphia who are also good fwends! Hesitantly, they deliver fuzzy and awkward garage rock with poignant, heartfelt lyrics regarding the experience of being self-described underachieving loners. Citing inspiration from acts like Pixies, Weezer, Blink 182, Nirvana, the group manifested from the notion that rock n’ roll can still be fun and for everyone. We found Casey hanging out in public restrooms. See if you can spot the former child-star! I need help. I have reason to believe that the FBI is after me.
Elita ~ Pink Blush
AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 8:00 PM Show: 8:30 PMElitaGrowing up in Cupids, Newfoundland, Canada, a town of less than 800 people, Elita spent most of her childhood in isolation. With encouragement from her parents, she developed artistic skills in photography, drawing, dancing, singing and music. She changed high schools frequently as a teenager. Feeling removed from friends, she found comfort in social media, where she began gaining a following on instagram in 2015, and began modeling. In 2017, Elita launched her own business, designing zines and a few years later, a weapons jewelry line. That same year, she met her boyfriend, Tim. Although Elita hadn’t engaged in anything musically since she was a teenager, Tim recognized her musical potential and encouraged her to start singing again. The couple recorded a cover of ‘After Hours’ by the Velvet Underground. With a growing interest in the cinematic arts, Elita focused on writing a movie script with Tim (to no success). However this attempt at collaboration led to them writing their first single, ‘I Hate Everyone But You’ (2018). They had no intention of making the song public, but after recording a test demo, they decided to release it. Tim concentrated on writing more songs with his bandmates, and sending these instrumentals to Elita who would write lyrics and perform vocals. This collaboration led to the eventual recording and release of Elita’s debut EP, ‘Sick Girl’ (2019), which was followed by the ‘Blood Sucker’ (2020) and ‘Anxiety Angel’ (2021) EPs. The projects combined have over 30M streams.Pink BlushPink Blush is an electrifying indie alternative rock band based out of Philadelphia, PA. deadyellow album release show
AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM Deadyellow Esoteric Black Metal from Philadelphia. A distinctive blend of beauty and brutality, the music is inspired by post-rock and discordant black metal, with incorporations of shoegaze and dark ambient noise. In reference to the aura of rot and decay, and reflecting the hues of earth, Deadyellow lends realization to the motif of darkness and melancholy. Lyrics explore themes of death, loss, philosophy, and self-identity, often drawing on personal experiences and emotions.https://linktr.ee/deadyellowGenital ShameGenital Shame, experimental black metal from Pittsburgh, PA is the one-person project of Erin Dawson. Touring for “Chronic Illness Wish,” her first full-length, she’ll be accompanied by a full-band, the Chicago post-rock three-piece, Stander. Veering from heavily distorted tremolo picked guitar and distant propulsive drums to gentle, bedroom pop ambience, Genital Shame is a queering of the sonic traditions and musical form of black metal. It is, in Dawson’s words, “an interrogation of how far you can get towards breaking those rules without it becoming something else.”https://genitalshame.bandcamp.com/Stander Stander is a trio restless in their pursuit to unearth new avenues for crafting heavy music. Their compositions unfurl beyond the more rigid confines of genre and subvert tropes with surprising shifts in phrasing, meter, and tone. Dramatic peaks give way to cavernous space before reigniting into serrated tendrils of feedback and chaotic surge. Guitarist Mike Boyd, bassist Derek Shlepr, and drummer Stephen Waller invoke and infuse their curiosity and an abundance of stylistic touchstones into idiosyncratic pieces tempered by keen, deliberate musicianship. Vulnerable is an unflinching reflection on emotional volatility and fragility, from existential dread to stagnance, incalculable grief to unbridled bliss.https://stander.bandcamp.com/musicLástima Lástima is a blackened screamo band from Philadelphia, PA that incorporates musical elements of latin music, classical, black metal and emo. Ceschi Ramos ~ Crazy & The Brains ~ Myles Bullen
AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMCESCHI RAMOSAn engaging, theatrical live performer, Ceschi Ramos has treated entire venues like a stage, viewing the middle of the audience or an empty barstool as good a place as any to perform a soul-baring folk song or tongue-twisting rap track. He knows what it is to suffer for his art and is aware that music exploring the ugliness and sorrow of the human condition will always exist on the fringes of a game dominated by disposable escapism and expensive publicists. Yet he still pours everything he has into his craft, and on any given night you can find him tracking vocals at his cousin’s New Haven studio, warmly greeting fans and friends at a dive bar merch booth or rapping double-time in Japan or Europe for audiences that often don’t speak his language, but are able to see the giant heart at the core of it all. He has been in bands described as hardcore, crunk rap, lo-fi synth pop, Latin progressive and psych-jazz-rap. He has crafted abstracted and personal narratives mining the depths of depression and heights of hope. He has slept on countless floors when hotels weren’t in the touring budget and lost girlfriends and jobs all for the love of creating and performing. Ceschi was born with four fingers on his right hand, which served as partial inspiration for the name of his DIY record label, Fake Four, Inc. Those who have worked with him describe Ceschi as one of the most artist-friendly labelheads out there, a rare breed who values art over profit almost to a fault.ceschiramos.comhttps://ceschi.bandcamp.com/IG @ceschiramosTwitter @ceschifacebook.com/ceschiramos Crazy & the BrainsPunk rock, New Jersey.Website Myles BullenMyles Bullen (they) (Absentee Shawnee) is a self-described “migratory, songbird, rap seamstress, art poet” hailing from Portland, ME.
