Quarters of Change ~ Frend

QUARTERS OF CHANGEQuarters of Change is the Lower-East-Side quartet leading the charge on New York City’s rock resurgence, and redefining what it means to be a rock star. You may have recently discovered them as the end credit performers on Netflix’s acclaimed “RACE” docu-series, but their origins go back much farther.Composed of Ben Acker, Attila Anrather, Jasper Harris, and Ben Roter, Quarters of Change started in 2017 as a high school cover band, performing iconic rock songs of the 90s and 00s. It wasn’t until their junior year that they began writing original material, pulling influence from groups like The Strokes and Rage Against The Machine, and creating their own original sound. Within a year, the band had signed a deal with Warner/300 Entertainment, released streaming favorites like “Kiwi,” and played sold out shows at renown venues like Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall. Now, armed with a record deal and an undeniable slew of songs, Quarters of Change is poised to be alternative rock’s next big thing. Keep an eye out for their self-written debut LP, Into The Rift, with contributions from legendary producer Tom Lord-Alge, coming Spring 2022.https://quartersofchange.com/FRENDPost-hardcore heartbreak. Melodically screaming about hard feelings over angular hooks and heavy grunge. Its v cathartic for everyone involved.https://frendtheband.bandcamp.com/
Andorra ~ Perils ~ Coleman Rigg and the Ridge Runners

*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry*7 PM Doors7:30 PM ShowANDORRA “Soaked in Bud Light and regret,” Andorra is Kevin McCall, Jordan Petrellis, Michael Trycieckyj, and Dante DiLoreto. The band formed in 2010 in Philadelphia, PA and named themselves after the respective city suburb (not the country.) The group self-produced and released their third studio album, “Family Tree.” Philly Live writes “the album exists within a boundary-less space of heavy rock and basement blues. All songs on the full album are explorative, yet relate to each other in different ways, fully emphasizing that familial theme.”The sophomore album, “What You Wanted, What You Got”, was called “heavy in all the right places.” The record is the group’s “coming of age” story adjusting to new phases of life. It’s a punchy guitar rock record for long drives through the suburbs, pre-games, and grown up mosh pits. https://andorramusic.bandcamp.com/COLEMAN RIGG AND THE RIDGE RUNNERSStarted as a solo project in 2018, Coleman Rigg released his self titled EP to launch himself into the Philly music scene. Shortly after release, Rigg began to form a band to take his songs to live audiences in Philly, thus bringing The Ridge Runners to life. Throughout 2019, the band took stages all across the city, honing in their live performances, and developing their own sound and identity. As the band continued playing shows, Rigg began working on new material with the band, and blended together the sounds each member brought to the group. These efforts first came to fruition in late 2019 when the band recorded their first EP, Characters Living in Screens, at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, working with local legend Brian McTear to produce the record. McTear and the band also worked with Matt Poirier as the engineer on the record. The EP was released in the height of the pandemic in 2020, but still was received favorably, despite the band not being able to support it with shows. Through the rest of 2020, the group worked together virtually on new songs, enough to round out a full length record. The album’s lead single, If You Really Wanna Know, was released in Spring of 2021, followed by their full-length album in Summer 2021. You can stream the debut album today on all major platforms. https://colemanrigg.com/ PERILS Philadelphia-based psychedelic grunge funk outfit, Perils, have been hard at work crafting their sound in their Manayunk basement the past 3 years and are bringing it to a stage near you. Influenced by all your favorite acts like Nirvana, James Brown, Fugazi, Oasis, etc., Perils play loud, melodic, and funky jams written by the three members, Daniel Wurtz on Guitar and Vocals, Tom Vessels on Bass and Vocals and Jordan Mays on Drums. Surely a band not to miss live, and with a first studio release not too far behind. https://phillyperils.bandcamp.com/
Brittany Ann Tranbaugh (EP Release) ~ Emily Drinker

BRITTANY ANN TRANBAUGH (QUARTER LIFE CRISIS RELEASE SHOW)Brittany Ann Tranbaugh (pronounced TRAN-baw) is an award-winning singer/songwriter based in Philadelphia, PA. Originally from the Lehigh Valley area in PA, she kicked off her music career as a teenager playing at Godfrey Daniel’s, one of the country’s only remaining bona fide folk listening rooms. She has since performed all over the US and Canada in theaters, living rooms, basements, bars, coffee shops, backyards, and on festival stages including Firefly and Philly Folk Fest. You can expect to hear a new EP produced by Jackson Emmer and entitled “Quarter Life Crisis Haircut” in April 2022. In this new batch of memorable and thoughtfully crafted songs, she tackles a wide range of topics including her sixth grade queer awakening, an awkward run-in with an old acquaintance, and the impossibility of true folk music authenticity in this day and age. At times witty and sarcastic, at other times heartbreaking and raw, the EP undoubtedly showcases Tranbaugh’s finest work to date.EMILY DRINKEREmily Drinker blends folk, pop, and rock with a kickass backing band and soulful 3-part harmonies through live looping. Emily has been featured by NPR Music, played at Firefly Music Festival, and toured in Colombia and around the United States. In 2020 and 2021, she hosted a livestream series called Every Cent Concerts to support local artists during the pandemic. In addition to her busy performance schedule in Philly and its surrounding areas, Emily also does some work as a session vocalist. A song she co-wrote and sings on has been played several times on CBS’ The Young and the Restless. In 2022 Emily will release a new album.

Loud and quiet, raw yet honed, Rid Of Me strikes a nerve for anyone wanting to hear melody, emotion and punishing groove filtered through walls of noise and dissonance. https://ridofme.bandcamp.com/TANGLED UPhttps://tangledup.bandcamp.com/ BURIAL WAVES Burial Waves are their own sonic entity, but you can certainly hear not only their individual pedigrees, but the history of their hometown in their collective output. Their initial foray into the public sphere began in early 2020 with a video of their live multi-media performance of “Cinema Shame.” The song starts with a steady, driving guitar line supplemented by a syncopated drum pattern. A grimy bass line and ethereal guitar round out the instrumentation, giving the song a heavily anchored rhythm section and helium-grade atmospherics. Durfey completes the picture with his impassioned vignette of a couple watching the history of their relationship unfold as distanced spectators. “Cinema Shame” is an apt introduction to Burial Waves’ sound—an amalgam of amp-worshipping heaviness and synesthesia-inducing space rock with a slight edge of cathartic recklessness. https://burialwaves.bandcamp.com/

Tombs ~ Cloak ~ Restless Spirit at Silk City

TOMBSFormed in 2007, Brooklyn-based experimental metal outfit TOMBS blends bleak, post-punk minimalism with the ferocious attack of sludge and traditional black metal. Over the course of the last nine years, TOMBS have established themselves as an act that’s as committed to consistency as it is to growth, developing smoothly (but never predictably) over the course of their career.https://tombscult.bandcamp.com/album/the-shiftCLOAKUnyielding darkness and brutality emerge from the deep south of the United States. Atlanta based quartet CLOAK blend the sounds of black metal and rock n’ roll to create their own unique and menacing sound. While rippers like “On Poisoned Ground” and “Into the Storm” deliver a fury of soulful aggression, songs like “Lifeless Silence” and “The Fire, The Faith, The Void” offer a darker, gothic essence, ultimately displaying CLOAK’s multi-faceted and dynamic musical diversity. So, raise your fists and set fire to the world; this is ‘The Burning Dawn’. CLOAK captures the magic, mystique, and mystery of classic heavy metal with their long-awaited debut ‘To Venomous Depths’. Drawing from metal’s most impactful sub genre’s, the quartet distill their collective influences into an enthralling full-album experience that honors the spirit of the early classics while standing firmly in the now. Captivating tracks like “Beyond the Veil”, “Deep Red”, “Forever Burned” and the title track are riveted with somber harmonies, driving rhythms, and dramatic builds in momentum and suspense. CLOAK’s bold and blackened metal teems with dark energy, and ‘To Venomous Depths’ is a testament to the genre’s primal power and magic.https://cloakatlanta.bandcamp.com/ RESTLESS SPIRIT“A turbo-charged, all-inclusive extrapolation of Sabbathian doom with a vicious character and an absolute monopoly on righteous riffs across all tempos, shapes, and sizes.” Invisible Oranges (USA)https://restlessspirit.bandcamp.com/album/blood-of-the-old-gods
