Open Mike Eagle ~ Serengeti ~ Video Dave ~ Fatboi Sharif

**All shows 21+—valid ID required**Doors: 6:00 PMShow: 6:50 PMOPEN MIKE EAGLEHumor can conceal and alleviate the pain of trauma, but no joke will erase it. Even Wu-Tang Clan told you that tears come after laughter. Relief comes only from opening every emotional and psychological wound.Open Mike Eagle spent the 2010s finding comedy in rap music and American nightmares. On albums like Brick Body Kids Still Daydream and Dark Comedy, he delivered hilarious socio-political insights via half-sung verses laid atop progressive production. Acclaim from publications like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and NPR coincided with headlining solo tours and top-billing at events like Adult Swim Festival. Between studio sessions, Eagle co-founded The New Negroes, a standup-meets-music variety show that explores perceptions of blackness. He and co-founder Baron Vaughn brought the show to Upright Citizens Brigade, Comedy Central, and venues around the U.S. Since founding his record label Auto Reverse Records, though, Eagle has scaled back the jokes. He’s finally unpacking his traumas and acknowledging their impact. With over a dozen solo and collaborative projects to his name, Eagle has spent his career redefining and expanding the parameters of “art rap,” the term he coined as a shorthand for leftfield and avant-garde rap music. http://mikeeagle.net/ SerengetiDavid Cohn, better known by his stage name Serengeti, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinoishttps://www.facebook.com/serengetidave/Video DaveVideo Dave is from Chicago and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he began making music and studied production. He has lived in Miami, New York, and LA, being an artist in all those places. He now travels and works with a few other artists and friends who he met at SIUChttps://videodave.bandcamp.com/Fatboi SharifSharif doesn’t look at his performances with the traditional lens that a normal rapper does, but treats the live show as a spiritual experience where Sharif and the crowd become married through raging and serenity. With being inspired as a child by Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, and Parliament Funkadelic it’s hard to put Fatboi in a box. Grit over glamour is the name of his game. Production wise, once he finds the right instrumental that speaks to him in his language, he’ll sit with it for a few weeks and sleep to it on repeat. https://anniversarygroup.com/Fatboi-Sharif
The Halluci Nation ~ Creeasian & the della kit (The Loft)

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM The Halluci Nation The Halluci Nation is real. As they enter a new cycle, Bear Witness and Tim “2oolman” Hill of A Tribe Called Red are reintroducing themselves as The Halluci Nation, to reflect the evolution of their music and mission. The Halluci Nation, takes its name from a phrase coined by John Trudell, to describe the vast global community of people who remember at their core what it means to be human. As a visionary artist and activist, Trudell recognized the connection between his accomplishments and what ATCR did intuitively through music and art. Trudell’s voice was the first heard on Tribe’s last record, We Are The HalluciNation, and will, fittingly, be the first you hear on The Halluci Nation’s upcoming record, One More Saturday Night. The album is a love letter to the Electric Pow Wow gatherings launched at Ottawa’s Babylon nightclub in 2007. It represents an imagined denouement to the biweekly Saturday-night parties that ended abruptly in 2017, without ever getting the proper send-off. OneMore Saturday Night thus pays homage to the parties’ energy and momentum that elevated The Halluci Nation to this pivotal point in their career of fully mastering their own music style while also moving beyond club music; or “mixing dance music with dance music,” as Bear Witness succinctly puts it. French Police ~ Strange Weekend

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM FRENCH POLICEAs the project of Brian Flores, the band has been haunting fans with a blend of emotionally wrought post-punk since 2019 and their latest offering is no different. “Club de Vampiros” exudes a melancholy from its undulating synth pads and guitar line as a bouncy bassline carries the song to its end. French Police’s single captures the seduction of dancing in romantic, cavernous spaces filled with fog and a promise of eternity.https://www.instagram.com/frenchpoliceband/https://open.spotify.com/artist/75vqTLIltGApfI0NxcsJaCSTRANGE WEEKENDStrange Weekend is a high energy indie rock group channeling 2000s alternative through driving drums, aggressive basslines, and dancy distorted guitars. Blood Red Shoes ~ Mz. Neon

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:30 PM Show: 8:00 PMBLOOD RED SHOESBlood Red Shoes have been busy. After years spent living on opposite sides of the Atlantic, world events threw them back together into what has become the must fruitful era of their 17 years together. “It’s been a loooong time since we both lived in the same city”, explains Steven. “I mean we actually wrote this album in LA at Laura’s place, then came to the UK to record it…and then everything went nuts”. Realising very quickly that they wouldn’t be able to release the album or tour until the world returned to some kind of normality, the band found their energies quickly spilled over into other projects. Laura-Mary started a podcast, Never Meet Your Idols, with her best friend in LA, interviewing everyone from Zack Snyder to Mark Lanegan to CHVRCHES. It is now about to start its third season. Steven started applying his love of electronic music by writing and producing other alternative artists like Circe, ARXX, Aiko and XCerts, racking up millions of streams in the process. MZ. NEONMz Neon is a genre-bending musician, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and multimedia artist using performance and lyrics to express her sexuality as a trans woman and defy misconceptions about herself and anyone who identifies outside of the binary spectrum – both gender wise and ideologically. A lyrical provocateur, Neon confronts issues of identity, sexuality, politics, spirituality, and lived experiences as a trans-femme-fatale. She is a triple threat of sharp wit, hypnotic sensuality, and musical virtuosity. Neon commands an elegantly tough, yet unapologetic ownership, of her visceral vulnerability ─ on and off the stage ─ to local and international audiences alike. Born in Boston, MA, Neon moved to New York City after high school where she spent over a decade performing in a number of bands and working in fashion as a couturier, before relocating to Los Angeles in 2017. Neon performs extensively in the U.S. and internationally, being billed alongside acts such as Hercules & Love Affair, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Azealia Banks, Martin Rev of Suicide, and Egyptian Lover, among others.
