Harakiri For The SkyMӕre – a malicious folkloristic entity creeping on sleeping people’s chest during the night and causing breathlessness and anxiety. It’s exactly this state of diffuse terror and paralysis that has been enshrined in HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY’s music ever since their debut album. And now, more tales from feverish dreams are being released on January 29th in the form of the band’s 5th longplayer “Mӕre”, out via AOP Records.As pioneers of the post movement, mixing haunting black metal with post rock moments, the Austrians have, ever since their conception in 2011, drawn fans and critics deeper and deeper into their maelstrom of melancholy, self hate and anger, and even reached #29 of the German charts with their previous release “Arson”. And once again, several friends of the band entered the intoxicated world of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY to guest on “Mӕre”: While Alcest’s front man Neige brings a haunting flair to ‘Sing For The Damage We’ve Done’, before the anonymous voice of Gaerea joins in on ‘Silver Needle // Golden Dawn’. Ghost Bath writes and creates under the assumption that music is an extension of one’s own soul. They journey through the sorrow and sadness that all lives experience while leaving a glimmer of hope. They portray both deep anguish and angelic soundscapes that meld depression and joy in perfect harmony. The band started in October of 2013 with the release of their self-titled EP on Solitude Productions (China). This was followed by their debut LP titled, “Funeral,” which was released on Pest Productions (China) in June of 2014. The band’s highly acclaimed “Moonlover” was released on Northern Silence Productions(Germany) in 2015. In 2016, the band was signed by Nuclear Blast Records. New elements include a significant use of clean vocals throughout the album and there are even playfully progressive rhythms as in the opening track ‘All Is Lost’. The core elements that have shaped UNREQVITED in the past remain active as well. Hunter, the band’s only original member, switched from guitar/vocals to drums, and the band never skipped a beat. Tristan, who was at one point the band’s fill in bass player, took on the key roles of guitarist and primary songwriter. The two brothers enlisted the services of bassist/vocalist Alex Kouninos, and later guitarist/vocalist Brian Gellman to round out the sound. The new band quickly developed their own style, with unique three part vocal harmony permeating their recordings, and live performances. Front was born in San Francisco and grew up in Berkeley. He was tall and scrawny, had trouble breathing, and could not see well. A special teacher was called in to help him attain basic competence on the monkey bars, another to give him standardized tests meant for older children. Thusly, he was the most popular kid in his elementary school. Just kidding! He got pushed down a lot and called “nerd.” Did he maybe even deserve it? I mean, really – who strikes out at kickball? He spent the next twenty years or so trying to get over it. And kind of succeeded! Flash forward to 1999: the dotcom bubble is maximally inflated; nerds everywhere imagine themselves to be popular and/or hip. Damian is getting overpaid to code web pages, which leaves him free in the evenings to play with audio software. A longtime idolizer of rappers, he has been committing his own esoteric hip-hop compositions to four-track tape since high school, revealing them to nobody. But, suddenly! Multi-track desktop studios, cheap pro-grade recording hardware, skyrocketing bandwidth, semi-anonymous web publishing: these factors converge on Damian’s rap hobby like a flock of winged monkeys. Mauskovic Dance Band ~ Plant Sounds

They have been carrying out their experiments in hazy rhythms and dubby percussive workouts since 2017. In the early days, the boys fused their love of Afro-Caribbean poly rhythms with a no-wave sound palette to create their own unique danceable chaos. Check out their inaugural 7”s for Bongo Joe Records out of Geneva. They picked up the ears of British label Soundway, and subsequently released an EP and their debut self-titled album in 2019. Armed with an arsenal of hypnotic grooves and airtight arrangements, they cemented their reputation as a live act to fire up dance floors, and took their instruments on the road everywhere from Russia to Mexico, with plenty of European festivals in between. For their next chapter, the group dived further into their vast array of echos and spring reverbs, and fine-tuned their sound system-inspired, post-punk aesthetic.
