Morbid Angel ~ Revocation ~ Vitriol ~ Crypta (The Loft)

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 6:00 PM Show: 7:00 PM MORBID ANGELThroughout history only a handful of artists have been able to achieve a truly iconic stature within any given art form. Morbid Angel is among those select few. Shattering the boundaries of creativity and imagination while evolving with each groundbreaking release throughout its historic career, the band truly is an icon in extreme music. Continually serving as source of countless inspiration to the multitude of fans and never failing to amaze with each evolving chapter. Formed in 1984 by founding member Trey Azagthoth, the Floridian band went through a number of lineup changes and recorded the demos “Scream forth Blasphemies”, “Bleed for the Devil” and “Abominations Of Desolation”, featuring Trey Azagthoth and Richard Brunelle on guitar, drummer/vocalist Mike Browning and bassist John Ortega. Azagthoth’s interests in the occult, ancient magic, witchcraft and the Necronomicon poured into the band’s lyricism, as the musical context grew darker and attained definitive sophistication. The 7’’ single “Thy Kingdom Come” was released in Europe in 1988 and Morbid Angel was preparing to make a profound universal statement in form of a lineup consisting of guitarist Trey Azagthoth, drummer Pete Sandoval, bassist/vocalist David Vincent, and guitarist Richard Brunelle. Living together in several band houses which also served as places for rehearsals and pulling their funds together to purchase an old school bus which they converted into a tour bus, Morbid Angel hit the road on various underground touring adventures with the company of their mascot/head of security pit bull named Butch. On a shoe string budget and supporting only the various demos, the band made its way to places such as New York and performed at the clubs “Streets” in the city and “Sundance” on Long Island. With the help from friends in the band Immolation, they managed to get a side job painting a shopping mall in upstate NY to help offset expenses on the many off days of this particular shake and bake tour. Also the band met with troubles when rolling thou gh New Jersey and were pulled over and arrested, simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The bus was searched and the police found some most interesting and alarming things which lead to them holding the band for a while there in jail, including Butch. So fitting for a group consisting of a bunch of freaks. Morbid Angel continued on their mission of Death Metal and was soon discovered by Mick Harris of Napalm Death which lead to their meeting with Digby Pearson and their recording contract with Earache Records.https://morbid-angel.bandcamp.com/REVOCATIONRarely does a band step to the forefront of a genre with such purpose and confidence. Revocation have moved from relative obscurity to international critical acclaim as one of the brightest hopes for metal. Jonny West ~ Francisco Martin ~ Fritz Hager ~ Allegra Miles

**All shows 21+—valid ID required**Doors: 7:00 PMShow: 7:30 PMJONNY WESThttps://www.ohjonnywest.com/FRANCISCO MARTINAfter his first-ever tour, and a clutch of well-received singles, Los Angeles-based, San Francisco-born pop singer-songwriter, and producer Francisco Martin realized he had an all-consuming yearning to be his authentic self in his music. To that end, he worked feverishly in his apartment at all hours of the night while facing complaints from the neighbors. He now emerges with his first true artistic statement, the 6-song EP, Manic, a bold collection of emotionally-raw pop-rock. Francisco first shot to fame with American Idol season 18 in 2020 where he placed Top 5. From there, he quickly released a few singles before embarking on a fall coast-to-coast tour. To date, Francisco has released several hit singles, including “Swollen,” which has amassed close to 8 million streams across all DSPS (6 million on Spotify). Manic was made during a three-month pause after Francisco was thrust in the public eye. It was created by Francisco and his co-producer/good friend Nick Sarpa in Francisco’s apartment studio setup. The release bursts with dynamic musicality such as stately balladry, cathartic, grungy aggression, catchy EDM, and moments of soulful serenity. Throughout the EP,  Francisco bravely shares personal reflections on mental health, relationships, angst, and human disconnection in the age of connection. https://franciscomartin.org/FRITZ HAGERhttps://linktr.ee/Fritz3musicALLEGRA MILESAllegra Miles is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. The Slaps ~ Friko (Cambridge Hall)

**ALL AGES** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMThe Slaps At its core, Tomato Tree by The Slaps is an exercise in patience that seamlessly showcases the virtues of experimentation. Composed of guitarist/vocalist Rand Kelly, bassist/vocalist Ramsey Bell, and percussionist/vocalist Josh Resing, the band’s latest collection of songs is an achievement – a document of deepening friendship and their collective and personal advancements in artistic maturity. Though the band formed out of a chance meeting at a party in 2016 during their first year of college at DePaul University, The Slaps are bound together by a spirit of pastoral music making – the notion that collaboratively using the available resources can produce stunning results. “It’s been about trust – it starts with each other. We trust each other so much. We trust each other to live in different places and keep this thing going,” says Resing, referencing Bell and Kelly’s recent move from Chicago back to their homes in Lexington, Kentucky. “You can’t do that with just anybody.”FrikoFans know Friko (Bailey Minzenberger, Luke Stamos, and frontman Niko Kapetan) as vital rising stars in the Chicago scene. The music, which freelancer Britt Julious described as “perfect slices of indie-pop” in the Chicago Tribune last January, is complex, layered, and dynamic. Over the band’s time together, it has become clear they are comfortable embracing multiple musical extremes at once. Take a listen to the explosive and hypnotic beat of “In_Out” off their self managed 2022 EP release, Whenever Forever, and juxtapose it against the serene, strings soaked tracks that follow, “Half as Far” and “Can I See U Again.” It becomes even more pronounced in live performance, where a frenzied floor, grinding with wailing guitars and animation, in the very next minutes finds itself collectively holding its breath silently as the band eases them into a spell. Lyrically, Kapetan explores the possibility and risks of a life given over to music, interrogating what a life well-lived means to him. The duality rings out in the compositions, evoking rock and folk icons such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake. As Friko plays out sweeping melodies, held up by thrashing guitar and punchy beats, it feels as if Kapetan sings to you. Crooning about stories you know, memories you had but have somehow forgotten. The band is planning tour dates, and is near completion of what is to become the core of a new full length album.

Dune Rats ~ Chastity ~ Uncle Dan

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMDune RatsFour albums in, Dune Rats are still finding new ways to connect with the creative chaos that is at the core of their music.  The band, beloved for their carefree and no-holds-barred approach to rock music, have demonstrated time and time again that a formula for memorable music and longevity doesn’t need to be overcomplicated. The secret to Dunies’ success lay in the band’s unshakeable dynamic and their unabashed love for music that just makes you feel good. With Real Rare Whale, Dune Rats take this simple formula and kick it up an extra few notches – the final output representing a new phase for the group; perhaps their most ambitious and cohesive collection of work to date.ChastityBrandon Williams makes resonant songs that capture isolation and resilience. As the songwriter behind Chastity, the Whitby, Ontario musician has made three unrelentingly perceptive albums culminating in the cathartic Suffer Summer, which is out January 13, 2022 via Deathwish and Dine Alone Records. The LP caps off an album trilogy that showcases both Williams’ emotional range as a lyricist but also his boundless love of outsider music. His 2018 debut Death Lust pulled from Unwound and The Smashing Pumpkins as he grappled with mortality while 2019’s Home Made Satan dealt in world-weary anxiety and Hum-like atmospherics. But Suffer Summer is a meditation on happiness, channeled through powerhouse riffs and undeniably potent choruses, sung with Mineral and Jimmy Eat World worn on his sleeve. It’s an album that shows how healing and staying content is hard but necessary work.Uncle DanUncle Dan is:Shawn Wiseley – VocalsMitch Millard – Bass / TrumpetChalie Robinson – DrumsEric Mohrmann – GuitarJohn Guastavino – Guitarhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GqFrg0LwB8amgVpUMp5q8?si=qlkHKFEvSA-8daH7fPbkug&nd=1

Hive ~ Prisoner ~ Oldest Sea

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM HiveFormed in 2014 by guitarist and vocalist Morgan Carpenter and drummer Mike Paradise, Hive draws heavily from Scandinavian D-beat, Pacific Northwestern hardcore punk, and the legendary Minneapolis crust scene of their hometown. Drawing from their collective years in veteran hardcore bands such as Threadbare, Bosnia, Disembodied, and many more dating back to the early 1990’s, Hive has already left a dark cloud over the United States hardcore scene, particularly in the Midwest. In 2015, the band self-recorded and released their first 6 song self titled EP on limited edition cassette and 12” vinyl. The first proper full length LP, Parasitic Twin, was released by Crown And Throne Ltd. in 2017. 2018 saw Hive collaborating on a split 7” with fellow Minneapolis hardcore band No Skin. Most recently, in January of 2019, Hive distilled the same angst and paranoia of their previous efforts while confiscating the claustrophobia and lawlessness of their live shows. The result is Most Vicious Animal, 12 songs of bulldozing hardcore that rarely gives listeners a chance to breathe. Recorded entirely in two days while tracking in the same room together, the band was able to achieve a more brash and aggressive album compared to their previous releases. The bold new album will be released on all formats by known accomplices Crown And Throne Ltd. (vinyl, limited edition cassette, digital) and Seeing Red Records (CD, digital) in August 2019. On the heels of the release of Most Vicious Animal, the band performed numerous live shows from Denver to Philadelphia – including two separate tours with Sect (Southern Lord Records) – the last of which concluded in Baltimore, just days before COVID-19 shut down live music for nearly two years. During the COVID-19 shutdown, Hive remained diligent in practice and writing.  A live performance was recorded for Cvlt Nation’s Sonic Unrest Volume 4 – a collection of virtual live sets throughout the pandemic.  Shortly after, the band self released the audio from the performance as the Live Viral Armageddon cassette. By mid 2021, the band had completed writing for their third full length album, and began recording in unorthodox ways through the remainder of the year. The birthed result was Spiritual Poverty – a nine song powerhouse grabbing the band’s signature combination of raw punk and unbridled heaviness by the throat, and illogically pushing it all into the red. Hive has carved out their own denomination through underground punk and is welcomed and shunned by their peers in equal measure. Their cabal is undoing and the only haven is death. Join their cult.Hive Bandcamp:  hivempls.bandcamp.comPrisonerhttps://prisoner.bandcamp.com/Oldest SeaFormed in 2017 by songwriter Sam Marandola, Oldest Sea began as one woman’s personal exploration of the darker side of experimental folk music.
