Creature Canyon ~ latchkey kids ~ puppy angst

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM Creature CanyonFormed in San Diego, CA, Creature Canyon encapsulates the fiery energy of indie/alternative rock with waves of modern psychedelia. The band consists of members Austin Steele, Ryan Amyot, Kyle Victoria, Aaron Lund, and Luc Fralic. Known for their thrilling and captivating live performances, Creature Canyon has received nods from Billboard, Paste, and many other industry tastemakers. Building upon their prior EPs ‘Life I Know’ and ‘Did You Want That’, their ambitious, forthcoming debut album ‘Remarks’ is a considerable leap forward in their songwriting journey. The album seeks to tackle themes that deal with the emotional conflicts of love and loss through a journey of self-discovery. The songs traverse through organic and synthetic soundscapes that register as both familiar and new. To capture their vision for the album, the band enlisted the virtuosity of producer Christian Lum (Private Island), recording engineer Mike Schuppan (Foster The People, Young the Giant), mixing engineer Jordon Silva (Vance Joy, The Avett Brothers), and mastering engineer Brian Lucey (Cage The Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys). It’s an all-caps exclamation, a sharp proclamation, and a rallying cry. That’s also the name of the debut record from Philly/South Jersey quartet UgLi. Across eight tracks that hearken back to gloom-doom 90s alt-rock and leap towards power-pop majesty, FUCK is more than deserving of its title. The band promises a welcome release of tension that needs no introduction, just your attention. Assembled over an uncertain 2020, the record finds Dave Downham (Pet Symmetry, mewithoutYou) and the band honing in on a sound that relishes in being rough around the edges—anything else would betray UgLi’s internal monologue. 2021’s UgLi—guitarist/vocalist Dylyn Durante (she/her), bassist Lucas Gisonti (he/him), guitarist Andrew Iannarelli (he/him), and drummer Teddy Paullin (he/him)—live in the tender space between dreams and nightmares. Durante likens her emotional squalor to a “House Pet” as the record begins, lets her brain splay open over a flame through “Bad Egg,” and finds ways to navigate love when Cupid’s arrows are pointed elsewhere twice in the runtime…” – James CassarBandcamp: https://mybandisugli.bandcamp.com/album/fuckInstagram: https://instagram.com/mybandisugli?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=pillow princessNot quite rock, more of a pebble. pillow princess is the newest offering from Philly music-scene stalwart, and Secret Nudist Friends front-person, Mattie Klauser. Michael Rault ~ Pearl Charles ~ Born Losers Records

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM Michael RaultMichael Rault’s second full-length, It’s A New Day Tonight, has its home in the darkness, like much rock and roll—many of its songs look at nocturnal activities, particularly sleep. “Sleeping and dreaming were attractive concepts,” says Rault. “I was looking for an escape from a lot of frustrating and dissatisfying conditions in my day-to-day life.”The Edmonton-born, Montreal-based singer-songwriter-producer began working on its songs in earnest after winding down the tour supporting his 2015 full-length Living Daylight, but getting to the point of having an album was a process. “It’s crazy to think it was that long ago that I started fully applying myself to the album—there were a lot of holdups along the way,” recalls Rault. “Musically it came out of a period of dissatisfaction, creatively and personally, as I found myself pushing against the limitations of my abilities and approaches to making music.”http://michaelrault.com/site/Pearl CharlesCharles has been playing music since she was 5 years old. At 18, she formed country duo The Driftwood Singers with Christian Lee Hutson, singing and playing guitar and autoharp. At 22, she joined garage rock band The Blank Tapes as drummer. After two fun-filled years immersed in the rock and roll lifestyle, she decided it was time to pursue her own songwriting, and began developing the songs that formed 2015′s eponymous debut EP.  Drawn to poppy hooks and catchy choruses, Charles draws on what she loves about the 60s, 70s and 80s while developing her unique style as a solo artist. In 2018, Pearl released debut album, Sleepless Dreamer, which Rough Trade described as “The best country pop we’ve heard in years” and Buzzfeed called her “A modern June Carter meets Lana Del Rey.”  With the upcoming release of the follow up, Magic Mirror, out January 15, 2021, Pearl leans into furthering her own brand of country-disco.https://linktr.ee/PearlCharlesBorn Losers RecordsBorn Losers Records is a label from Philly :-)www.bornlosersrecords.com

Quivers ~ Strawberry Runners ~ Yours Are The Only Ears

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 6:30 PM Show: 7:00 PM Quivers QUIVERS from Melbourne, Australia (via Tasmania) are FINALLY touring their cathartic lyric-driven guitar pop around the USA. Guitars and tape loops that glimmer and glisten. Four distinct male and female voices. Hard jangle about grief, friendship and love. Quivers were originally slated to tour in 2020, but at least the delay has brought a 2nd album, Golden Doubt (out on Ba Da Bing), and a full cover of REM’s Out of Time which the band themselves endorsed with fire emojis. As for Quivers’ sound, Pitchfork calls it “effortlessly tuneful jangle pop” and “like a Go-Betweens with Coachella ambitions”, while NPR’s Otis Hart says Quivers write “earnest earworms, and I am here for every one of them”. You can check out the band’s performance for KEXP. DJ John Richards said the single “You’re Not Always On My Mind” was one of the best songs he’d heard in years and he listened to it “8 times in a row”. Quivers recently supported The Hold Steady at The Croxton in Melbourne, which has only furthered the longing for them to return to the US. It is music for road tripping with your friends and ghosts, and that is what Quivers will do as they traverse the American landscape and pull up to the bumper for 14 or more shows. We can’t wait.https://quiversss.bandcamp.com/Strawberry RunnersStrawberry Runners the music project of songwriter, Emi Night. The band are from New York via Philadelphia and Denver.https://strawberryrunners.bandcamp.com/Yours Are The Only EarsSusannah Cutler is a songwriter and producer raised in both Manhattan and Upstate New York. She began writing songs from a young age and her emotional connection with music never ceased. In 2014, she gave her private universe a public name and began playing shows in Brooklyn as Yours Are the Only Ears. Naming the project created space for Cutler’s collection of deeply personal and surreal poetry to flourish and take new shape. Although spread thin by school in a transformative time in her life, Cutler taught herself how to record out of a desire for autonomy and decided it was time to make her record. “Knock Hard” is a triumphant testament to self love.https://yoursaretheonlyears.bandcamp.com/
