Dear Forbidden ~ Gun-Shy Butterfly ~ Those Looks

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   Dear Forbidden Dear Forbidden formed sometime around 2015 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania— probably  during a full moon, with all of the self-mythologizing and wanton hyperbole rock band bios are  known for. It began with Gina LC and some other people who, frankly, don’t matter right now. Ryan joined in 2016, which was neat. But the real turning point came in 2017 with the arrival of  Steph, that’s when everything got louder and tighter. In 2020, Kyle joined on second guitar, completing the lineup and adding a touch of luxury in the process.   Dear Forbidden doesn’t fit neatly into any genre, mostly because genres are a man-made  construct. Despite this, the band has played many, many shows over the years, some even in such  exotic locales like Poughkeepsie, NY and Wilmington, DE. The band has had its fair share of  trials and tribulations, for example, nobody can tell when the band is joking, in any context. Their most recent self-titled album release is available wherever you get your music.    Gun-Shy Butterfly  Philadelphia-based duo Gun-Shy Butterfly meld sugary harmonies and urgent hooks with fuzzed-out guitars for a tough and tuneful sensibility evoking the 1990s alt-rock, grunge, and Riot Grrrl scenes, especially bands like Veruca Salt, L7, and the Breeders. Check out their debut EP ‘Uncomplicated’ wherever you stream music.   Those Looks  Those Looks is an indie rock four-piece from Lambertville, New Jersey, known for their velvet wave style of dreamy, apocalyptic pop. Combining retro rock sounds, from surf to jangle, with classic pop melodies and hints of cosmic country and psychedelic folk, their music is the perfect soundtrack for the last summer on earth. The band includes Kelly Bolding on lead vocals and guitar, Sylvia Barrantes on lead guitar, Randall Newman on bass, and Shaun Ellis on drums, all of whom contribute to the lush vocal harmonies that are a throughline across the band’s songs. Previous releases include “Cherry” (2025), Passing Through (EP, 2025), and Cults Near Me (LP, 2022) on Mint 400 Records; “Laundry and Taxes” (2023) on Weathervane Music; and Come Unto Me (self-released EP, 2019). Those Looks play regularly across the New Jersey, Bucks County, and Philadelphia areas. They are currently writing and recording their second full-length album.

The Dead Bolts ~ Cab Ellis ~ Looser

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   The Dead Bolts – Chicago’s raucous, no-frills modern rock outfit — are hitting the road with Cab Ellis, the beating heart of New York City’s underground alt-rock revival. Multiple nights. Multiple cities. No polish. No pretense.      The Dead Bolts The Dead Bolts have been earning it for years, from hours-long sets in corner bars and tours across the country crammed in their beloved van, Vancis, to packing out prestigious venues like Metro, Thalia Hall, and Salt Shed. Their sophomore LP, Beau Monde, is their loudest statement yet: a nine-track, no-skip record built for stages exactly like these and yet nowhere near as loud as their highly anticipated 3rd LP coming out in October of this year. Come hear their latest World Class Hit, SKINT, live in a city near you.   Cab Ellis Cab Ellis rolled out of New York the same way — six musicians who couldn’t stop themselves from going completely untamed, led by frontman Connor Abeles, a performer whose energy turns a room full of strangers into one anarchic being. Stage diving. Beer-spitting. Split guitar strings. Sold-out nights at Bowery Ballroom. This is what rock and roll is supposed to feel like. Together, they’re bringing the kind of live show that’s getting harder to find — raw, loud, real, and absolutely worth the drive.     Looser

Joe Kaplow ~ A Meadow ~ James Clark

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   Joe Kaplow Before I started my career I had a choice: to take over my parent’s thoroughbred farm in New Jersey or pursue music full time in California and relinquish the farm to sale.  I still wonder what life would have looked like had I stayed, but who can resist the gold rush?  Besides, I plan to get back there one day on another farm with some other red barn. My music comes from life’s moments — smelling 4 acres of freshly cut grass, watching the steam from a horse’s breath in the early morning, finally holding the neck of my guitar after holding bridles and worn wooden handles all day.  4000 acres of freshly burnt wildfire, watching the steam from the Pacific Ocean’s breath in the early morning, finally holding the neck of my guitar after clutching the worn steering wheel of the tour van all day.  Now my reality is in Bonny Doon, CA, where mountains meet the sea. I am in my recording studio, aptly named Hippie Cowboy, every day.  Slow and steady; keep it fun, stay engaged.  All for the moment when the song finally sounds right.  My dad passed away a couple years ago — his bullwhip is on the wall, his Harley is in the driveway. He visits me in dreams, and oh, the moment I wake up!  Sometimes I write for him. Sometimes for my mom, who I hope will move out to California soon.   Maybe she could volunteer at an equestrian center… A person is made from their moments, like their music is made.  I know this is a bio but I shouldn’t have to say much.  Listen to the record.  If I’ve done my job well, you will know me by the end – “This is a special record to me.  Unlike the past few, this one sounds like a more cohesive ‘band’ statement.  Most of it was cut together live, in a room over five days.   Rob, Elliott, and I had been playing for a long time with Mikey and then Hawes on drums, and while the music always felt great, the ‘band’ feeling hadn’t made its way into the recording studio.  ‘Time Spent In Between’ and ‘Sending Money and Stems’ were very pieced together albums; me playing most of the instruments, collaborating with many different drummers but working one song at a time, etc.  However, when Jeff moved back from Nashville and joined the band, it felt more cohesive. Maybe we gelled because Jeff  came from the same musical world.   In our little family Jeff championed nicknames, Elliott invented musical travel games, and Rob and I rolled our eyes at their enthusiasm for Arby’s.   We travelled around sharing our art and feeling free.   When we went to Enterprise, OR to record the first session, most of the songs were learned on the spot.   We strove for the zenith moments when we knew the song well enough to not make errors but still had to fly by the seats of our pants to keep it from coming unglued.  Everything has an arc like this.  After all, when you know something well enough you can take the present for granted. After those sessions we toured our new songs for a year (it usually goes the other way around) and decided some of the songs were misunderstood the first time so we recorded them again, live and together.  I am thankful and proud of that process and proud of them.  The music captured on this record occurred in very special moments between four people who had a special bond, musically and beyond. We hope you enjoy it.”

Vethaken ~ We Used to Cut Grass ~ My So Called Summer

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   Vethaken Vethaken (formally Pravin Thompson Quartet) is the Brain Child of Guitarist, Pravin Thompson. This project has been performing in the United States, Canada, and India over the last 10 years but only recently has dawned a new Identity. Vethaken is a mix of Post-Hardcore and Prog-Jazz.  Vethaken means wise eyes in “Tamil,” a South Indian language that Pravin’s family speaks. This name has significance in his family tree, but to Pravin it is more of a mantra. For him, it means you can always find beauty in whatever struggle that is presented to you, as most of the music in the Vethaken catalog has been written during times of distress.    In 2019 Pravin was able to bring his band to play the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival, opening for the incredible Donny McCaslin.    In March 2020 Vethaken released their first LP, “A Thoughtful Collapse.” With the pandemic in full swing the band relied heavily on digital marketing. Utilizing Facebook and Instagram Ads along with great content to build a solid fan base throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.   As of April 2026, Vethaken has made over $20,000 in online Merch sales across the United States. They have generated well over 1600 customers. Their next EP, “I’m all out of Beautiful Thoughts,” has been gaining traction across streaming platforms, and has brought a whole new dimension to their current sound.    We Used to Cut The Grass We Used to Cut the Grass is a shapeshifting experimental ensemble from New Jersey led by composer/bassist Cody McCorry. Known for wildly varying instrumentation, the band is heavily inspired by the likes of Frank Zappa, John Zorn and Sun Ra, with roots in the blurred zone between progressive rock and jazz fusion.  The group’s sophomore album, “We Used to Cut the Grass #2,” the follow up to their similarly self-titled album released in 2022, simultaneously made waves in the jazz, prog and math rock scenes, affirming the band’s unorthodox approach to composition. The album made it into Arctic Drones’ top 20 best jazz fusion albums of 2025, who described it as “a beautiful mess you didn’t know you needed.” My So Called Summer-For more than a decade, songwriter Claire Cuny and composer/producer Monte Weber have co-created the Brooklyn-born indie project first known as Reliant Tom and now re-imagined as My So-Called Summer. Blending Monte’s textural, boundary-pushing production with Claire’s visceral choreography and haunting vocals, the duo carved out a singular space in the Brooklyn indie scene—one that lived equally onstage, onscreen, and in immersive performance environments.

Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM   Andres Hailing from Bakersfield, CA(home to iconic country music star, Buck Owens and the Nu-METAL pioneers in Korn) Andrés’ persistent touring schedule and ability to frequently release quality music will earn him a street named after him in no time. Although The Fall of Troy and Hail the Sun have been nice enough to let him open up their shows, Andrés has had trouble being embraced by the progressive post-hardcore community due to his embarrassingly cheesy lyrics and obvious musical show tune influences. Andrés’ social media bio reads “I ain’t nothin but a jazz hound baby.”   In Angles In Angles is a progressive post-hardcore band hailing from East Brunswick, New Jersey. Formed in the early 2010s, the band has developed a distinctive sound characterized by intricate guitar work, dynamic rhythms, and emotive vocals. Their discography includes several releases that showcase their evolution as artists. In 2014, they debuted with the EP “Upstairs,” introducing listeners to their complex musical arrangements and heartfelt lyrics.  Their newest record “The Light We Can’t Escape” received critical acclaim, highlighting their blend of technical proficiency and punk energy and further cementing their place in the progressive post hardcore and punk scene.    Resilia Resilia was founded by guitarist John Benoit in 2018. The post hardcore band’s line up now includes vocalist Daisy Chamberlin (previouslyofIMetaYeti), Ethan Cate on bass, Grant Dickerson on drums, and guitarists Gray Trainer and Owen Robinson. Initially struggling to find a vocalist, Resilia released instrumental versions of “RoyalFlush”(2019) and “Gambit” 2020). With the bones of their sound recorded, the band connected with vocalist Daisy Chamberlin who soon became a full-time member. The band has performed and toured since 2022, debuting at Chain Reaction(Anaheim,CA) opening for Makari, and has gone on to play cities throughout the country including Chicago, Dallas, SanAntonio, Houston, and Orlando. Resilia released their debut EP in 2023, revealing their personalized take on the progressive post-hardcore sound.
