Gina Zo, a powerhouse vocalist from suburban Philadelphia now making waves in LA, is a beacon of authenticity and empowerment in rock-pop music. Boldly declaring her bisexuality in her 2023 anthem “Faking It,” Gina has transformed her personal journey into a powerful narrative for the LGBTQIA+ community, proving that true identity is a form of rebellion against conformity. Influenced by icons like Norah Jones and Stevie Nicks, her early experiences with homemade performances shaped her unyielding passion. After a disillusioning stint with an indie label, Gina reconnected with her original band to form Velvet Rouge, whose 2024 debut EP—produced by Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey—captures the raw, unapologetic essence of early 2000s rock. For 2024 the band has jumped onto the festival circuit including Beardfest, MusikFest and XPoNential Festival. Thy are celebrated as Best Rock Band in Philly and have been featured on NPR and WXPN, Velvet Rouge is leading a revolution against systemic barriers in music. As Gina prepares her next first solo record with Grammy-winning producer Justin Miller, she remains dedicated to inspiring young women to embrace their true selves and challenge societal molds, using her music as a powerful platform for change.
